Your tryout fee is NON-REFUNDABLE. It does NOT commit a player to the club, nor does it guarantee players a spot on a team. Every traveling player must pay the tryout fee to be considered for placement on a traveling soccer team.

Players should check in for tryouts 15 minutes prior to their scheduled session.

WELCOME!

We are excited you are considering playing for our club and being a part of the Centennial SC family. Our goal as a club is to make sure all kids have fun! In order to do that, tryouts are necessary to ensure kids are placed in the right league and team, so they are challenged appropriately. Each player will be assessed by experienced evaluators. A variety of soccer skills and situations will be evaluated. Players will receive a score that will be used for team placement. Upon completion of tryouts, a placement committee meets to determine player and team placement. Following tryouts, an email will be sent to you if you have an offer for a competitive team. At that point, each player and their family will make a decision to either accept or decline the team offered by the listed deadline. The player/family will then have until the deadline to accept or decline the offer by registering online.

For U9 through U14, roster spot priority will be given to players who select to play the Full Competitive Season (Fall and Summer). U15 and above players play High School soccer in the Fall. We occasionally have roster spot availability for younger Fall or Summer only players. We still expect Fall or Summer only players to tryout but there is no guarantee of a roster spot as priority goes to players wanting the Full Season. We will fill additional roster spots for Fall teams now (if available) and Summer teams in the Spring, based on tryout results.

MULTI SPORT ATHLETES WELCOME!

Are you a high school soccer player who plays multiple sports for your high school, and are interested in continuing to play high level club soccer...without the year-round commitment? Then the Centennial Soccer Club may be for you! We offer mixed-age high school aged teams in both boys and girls (numbers permitting). These teams have flexibility in their off-season (winter and early spring) schedules allowing players to play other high school sports. And these teams take input from all players and families when crafting their main season (later spring and summer) schedules as well. If you want to keep playing club soccer, but also play multiple high school sports, these teams may be for you! Tryouts FAQ

Q: What is the purpose of Tryouts?

A: Tryouts are conducted every year for competitive soccer. Players will be placed at the level where they fit best developmentally based on coach feedback and player development over the season along with their tryout performance.

Q: Where are tryouts held?

A: Tryouts will be held at the following locations:

Q: Do I have to pay tryout fees to play even if I can't attend tryouts or don't try out?

A: Yes, you are required to pay a tryout fee for placement on a team for all players, even if the player cannot attend the tryout sessions.

Q: What am I trying out for?

A: Tryouts are used to determine placement for similarly skilled players in the same age brackets, for U9-U18, and for Spring/Summer season teams. Fall league play is optional.

Q: What if I can't make both days of tryouts?

A: If you are unable to attend both of the tryout dates please still register and email registrar@centennialsoccer.org that you will be unable to attend.

Q: What if I don't play Fall league but want to play Spring/Summer?

A: Players can register for Fall league independent of Spring/Summer League play however roster spot priority will be given to players who select to play the Full Competitive Season (Fall and Summer). We occasionally have roster spot availability for Fall only players. We still expect Fall only players to tryout but there is no guarantee of a roster spot as priority goes to players wanting the Full Season. Q: My player would like to try out for an older age level, but there is only one age group available for sign-up. How do we sign up for the older tryout?

A: The player will only need to register at their age level (automatically determined by birth date) and pay one tryout fee, then contact the club's admin to notify them of your interest in trying out for an older age group. The player will need to attend the tryouts for both age groups to be evaluated at each level. (This is not necessary for younger players looking to tryout at U9 level.)

Q: What should I bring to tryouts?

A: Come prepared on your scheduled day with cleats, an age-appropriate inflated soccer ball (Size 4 for U9-U12 and Size 5 for U13+), shin guards, and water!

Q: Can parents and coaches watch or attend the tryout sessions?

A: Parents and coaches are not allowed to participate in the evaluation of players. Parents are encouraged to return to their vehicles after checking in their players.
