Juniors Program U7/U8

What IS THE JUNIORS PROGRAM AND WHO SHOULD PARTICIPATE?

The U7/U8 (2019 and 2018 birth years) Juniors program serves as a bridge between recreational soccer and competitive soccer. The program introduces players to competitive training while still enjoying fun soccer games. Our professional staff will teach players the basic fundamentals of soccer such as dribbling, passing, and shooting techniques. Players that succeed in this program have either participated in multiple seasons of the recreational soccer program previously or have decided to look for more advanced opportunities than what they currently have. Players who graduate from the Juniors program are better prepared for U9 Club Travel Soccer. Tryouts for Club Soccer are held in July right after the Juniors season.

What to bring

  • Bring a size 4 soccer ball
  • Juniors Jersey! (provided)
  • Wear cleats
  • Wear shin guards (underneath soccer socks)
  • Bring plenty of water
  • Any weather specific gear based on conditions

Players will receive a Centennial SC team Juniors jersey at the start of the season.

Volunteer helpers needed!

We will have a professional staff coaching and training the kids, but it's helpful to have extra hands, especially on game days to help lead the players.

Communication

Each Juniors player will have a team page on the SportsEngine (SE) App. Your team page will include your schedule, field info, roster, team chat, and more! More info will be sent out on this prior to the beginning of the season.

Each team will have 6-8 players. Games will consist of 4v4 or 5v5 to introduce specific positions to prepare kids for club soccer. Players will have a good understanding of basic knowledge of the game by the end of the season, to prepare them for competitive tryouts in July.

If we get enough participants, we will separate girls and boys to create 2 separate leagues.
