Centennial SC offers players of all levels of playing experience a fun and exciting spring indoor program. All games are played at the Centennial Sports Arena and practice sessions for U8 to U12 teams are held at schools in the Centennial School District. U6 Co-Ed Program
The U6 Co-Ed Soccer program offers boys and girls an opportunity to get their first taste of soccer in a relaxed, but exciting format. At a typical practice/game session, teams will practice for about 30 minutes and then play a match in a small-sided game format for the final 30 minutes. All practice/game sessions are typically held on Saturday mornings. Highlights of the U6 Co-Ed program include:
- 3 v. 3 matches (no goalkeepers and coaches on the field)
- Emphasis on the basics of soccer: dribbling, passing and shooting
- Participation awards for all players
- Required equipment: Centennial SC reversible jersey (available for purchase at Athletic Outfitters for $20), shorts, shin guards, long socks and flat soled shoes or sneakers--no protruding cleats allowed.
U8 Boys and U8 Girls Team
U8 teams continue to sharpen their soccer skills in the U8 program by continuing their play in a small-sided game format. During the U8 program, players will continue playing in the "traditional" soccer format, however, they will also work on developing a sense of shape (width and depth) and enhance their understanding of the "beautiful game." Centennial SC's U8 program is modeled after successful European "academy" style programs, which will allow them to adapt to the larger field once they start play at U9's. Further information regarding the U8 indoor program can be found in the Centennial SC Indoor Laws of the Game manual.
U8 teams will have about four joint practices with another U8 team, and seven or eight game sessions, which are about one hour in length. Practices are conducted weeknights at area schools and all games are held on Saturday's at the Centennial Sports Arena. Highlights of the U8 season are as follows:
U10 to U12 Boys and Girls Teams
Centennial Soccer offers indoor sessions for players in the U10 - U12 league. The U10 division combines the U9 and U10 age groups, and the U12 division combines the U11 and U12 age groups. Teams play weekly games at the Centennial Sports Arena in a 6 v. 6 or 8 v. 8 format depending on registration numbers--including goalkeepers. Games for each age group are typically played as follows: U10 Girls on Sunday afternoons, U10 Boys on Friday nights, U12 Boys on Sunday nights and U12 Girls on Thursday nights. Please note that these playing nights are tentative and are subject to change depending on availability and amount of space needed for each age group. U10 and U12 teams also have team practices during the course of the season. All U10 to U12 players receive a jersey and matching soccer socks as part of their registration fee.
Just For Fun (JFF)
Centennial SC also hosts a JFF league for U13 to U19 players who still enjoy playing with their friends. The first night of the league includes team formation and a clinic conducted by Director of Coaching Gavin Pugh. JFF teams typically play their games on Saturday nights at the Centennial Sports Arena, and do not have any practices. All JFF players receive a team jersey with their registration fee. Questions about the Just For Fun program can be sent via e-mail to JFF@centennialsoccer.org.
